about

i wrote this while inside of a house with painted windows.

no, i'm just kidding (sort of), but "painted windows" was what this "project" was originally called.

...i have no idea where this is going. still a very big work in progress.

Track Name: A Bird on Your Shoulder
i heard you had a bird
on your shoulder, dear
picking away at your ear
and whispering things
you would rather not hear

i heard you saw a ghost
through your back window
something like an eerie glow
that told you secrets
you would rather not know

but there is nothing i can do
for it is not my place
and there is nothing i can say
you've forgotten my face
Track Name: He Could Fly
i met a man who
told me he could fly
though something was odd
he had never touched the sky
and so i asked him
why sir oh why
to which he responded
i have never tried

(i have never tried
i could fly
if i tried
but why)

i've been told that he sits
on the same chair every day
dressed as a character
that he never wants to play
gigantic wings
growing from his back
dusty and old
but not a single crack

the stars are shining
so goddamn bright
he doesn't need wings
to belong to them tonight
